Q. What is the Holy Cross Day of Giving?
The 2024 Holy Cross Day of Giving is a day when Saints rise up and celebrate Holy Cross College with a gift that will develop engaged scholars, courageous citizens, virtuous leaders, and hopeful disciples. Launched in 2017, the annual Day of Giving unites Saints everywhere for a day of support, celebration, and connection. We invite the community to share a gift that benefits academics, athletics, scholarship, and student programming at Holy Cross College. Gifts allow numerous opportunities for students to grow both professionally and personally. With the competency to see and the courage to act, our graduates work tirelessly for the common good—and are prepared to meet the increasingly complex challenges that we face.
Q. When is Holy Cross Day of Giving?
The Holy Cross Day of Giving will take place on April 25, 2024
Q. Who can donate?
Anyone with a credit card and access to the internet can make a gift to Holy Cross College.
Q. What is GiveGab?
GiveGab is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits to raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy to use products that allows organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.
Q. Will I receive a receipt for tax purposes?
Yes. You will automatically receive an emailed receipt acknowledging your gift.
Q. Is there a minimum gift?
There is a $5 minimum donation.
Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?
Yes! Simply visit www.hcc-nd.edu/dayofgiving on your mobile device.
Q. What credit cards do you accept?
We accept Visa, American Express, Discover, and MasterCard.
Q. If I split my gift, will each split gift be matched?
We appreciate your support and desire to maximize the matching benefit to the College. To encourage broad involvement, the challenges were offered based on each unique donor who makes the gift, not each gift.
Q. Can I choose where to direct my gift?
Yes! Gifts of any amount to athletics, the Holy Cross Fund, scholarship, and student life will count toward the Holy Cross Day of Giving and are eligible to unlock the challenge gifts. Any gift made to the Moreau College Initiative Endowment will be matched dollar to dollar.
Q. May I make a gift in honor or in memory of someone?
Absolutely. Please include the name of the person you wish to honor.
Q. I'd like to get involved at Holy Cross. Where can I request volunteer information?
Please do! We encourage you to share the images and messages that are located in the Ambassador Toolkit. Send an email to classmates, post on your Facebook page, tweet, blog, yell, put signs on your lawn. It's all encouraged!
Q. Will my gift--if I make in advance of the Giving Day--help populate the leaderboards?
Yes! Gifts made in advance of the Holy Cross Day of Giving online will be shared with the community will be displayed on the leaderboard when it goes live at 12:00 a.m. on April 25, 2024.
Q. Is my payment secure?
Absolutely - The Giving Day is facilitated by GiveGab, a company who has partnered with Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) to process all gifts made through GivingDay.org. Read through Stripe's security documentation online.
Q. Can I send a gift by mail or phone?
Yes. However, due to the tight period of the Holy Cross Day of Giving, only gifts made online or in response to Giving Day mailings count toward overall totals and competitions.
Q. Is my Holy Cross Day of Giving contribution tax deductible?
Yes, your gift is entirely tax deductible. You will receive an email confirmation that may serve as your receipt for tax purposes.
Q. What if I already made a gift to Holy Cross College this year?
Thank you for your generosity to Holy Cross College! We appreciate your commitment and encourage you to make an additional gift of any size on April 25, 2024. We also need your help to promote our giving day to others, so consider joining our ambassador’s program that will include sample email and social media posts to help promote your support more easily.
